'99 / '00 front sport bumper on a '97??

'99 / '00 front sport bumper on a '97??
Does anybody know if a front sport bumber off a '99 or '00 ram (fiberglass paintable bumber) will fit on a '97 ram? I have asked around and no one knows, the dealer says no but I measured the frame and mounting brackets and it looks like it will fit. Has anyone tried?? Thanks.

Yes it will fit. You'll need the bumper cover, the steel re-inforcing panel, and the bumper brackets. The bumper is shaped differently though, so if you stick with your current grille, you'll have about an 1.5" space between the grille and bumper. To fix that, upgrade to a 99-01 sport grille too.
