Of all the days to be without my truck...(rant)
I'm leaving in a few minutes to see if I can find my car. I just wanna see what it all looks like in the daylight. Maybe it will be fine, we'll see.
Um...We were sitting in the garage looking at my motorcycle and we both decided it was way to hot out to drive to Ionia. So she suggested we take the bike out to Lake Michigan and go swimming instead
I couldn't argue with that. I was told by a few people that went there that security isn't letting people anywhere near the cars, so we probably wouldn't have gotten to see it anyway.
They're supposed to make an announcement today at 3:00 telling us when we can retrieve the cars. Looks like Friday at the earliest.
Yes the intake and all fluids will be checked, but if any water got inside at all, the car's totaled. It's been in the 90's here for the last couple days and that swamp water has been baking in it for 4 days now. It would cost more to clean the car than what the car's worth. I'll update later.

UPDATE*
It turns out we do have comprehensive ins on the car, just no collision ins, which is a good thing. The city of Ionia called me yesterday morning and told me my car was "ready". I headed over there and found that water had seeped into the car. We thought about just having it cleaned real good but because the car sits so low to the ground, all the electrical components were sitting under water for a good 3 days in 95* heat so they would probably fail one by one over the next few months. We were also told that the air bag sensor was under water so it could deploy at any random time and replacing the sensor alone would be $600. So the insurance company totaled it and cut us a $2800 check (not too bad considering KBB price is $2200). So I get to go look for a decent $2800 car!
Here's a pic of how high the water was (look at the rust line on the rotor).

And here's a shot of the interior. The only thing wrecked was the carpet, and boy it it smell raunchy.
