After installing the Rock Solid bushing. I had the same play above that you guys are mentioning. What I did that helped. Was I had some rope in the garage similar diameter to the gap. I wrapped the rope around multiple times pushing it into the gap with a screwdriver. Then If I recall I attached a hose clamp to keep rope from falling out.

Default 2002 Dodge ram 2500 steering column shifter tube bushing

I have the same problem. I was thinking of finding some felt or some nylon tube

does this play in the steering shaft ever cause death wobble ?
