V10 Starting problem
I recently did a motor swap. Mine through a rod out the bottom of the oil pan. I replaced it with another V10, a year older. My truck is a 1998 and the engine I replaced it with is a 1997. I used all the components on my motor on the new one. While in the process of this, a thief tried to hotwire my truck. He damaged my ignition switch and broke the shift lever off, so I replaced the entire steering column with a 1997 as well.
I get everything back together and now it wont start. The fuel pump wont kick on, I have jumped the relay and it works. The coil packs are not firing, I checked and it doesn't appear that there is even power to them. I went back over all the connections over and over again and there is nothing that was left unplugged. My last thought is that whoever the idiot was who tried stealing a blown up truck somehow shorted out my ECU or something?
Any ideas? I would greatly appreciate some help.
