Exclamation NEW HERE I just got a 2001 dodge ram 1500 4x4 need some advice please ....

hi i just bought a dodge ram 1500 4x4 truck today and had a few questions .
Ok i had put it in the shop because the trans is out in it just wondering if anyone would know how much the repair is gonna cost off hand ? But i had got the truck for 1500 dollars and its really nice truck so i had to take a chance but i knew the trans was gonna need some work but hay cant beat a deal once you see one . so if any one knows ups an downs of the 2001 dodge ram 1500 4x4 let me know its extended cab regular bed . not sure if its the 5.2 or 5.9 just got it in the shop so not sure but let me know what yall have to warm me of so i know what to check thanks.

Corey H.

o i will be posting pics of the truck .

What you paid for the truck is what it will cost.

Do a search on 'death flash', you have it. Probably need a plenum kit down the line as well. Trans will probably run at least what you paid for it, unless it's something electrical. Cat's are known to go bad.

welcome to the forum! a few things that you should look forward to fixing is the leaking plenum gasket ( do a search it will tell you all you need to know), fixing the death flash (if you have it) with a programmer....it would be a good idea to check al l your sensors. my truck is an 01 and a few of my sensors have gone bad! depending on how many miles your truck has you may be looking at a new water pump since those are known for going out anytime around 50-60,000 miles! as for the tranny my rebuild was about $2200 but i cant swear yours will be

Oh, so sorry. There can only be one nice white Sport model in here and that position has already been filled.
