ive also heard of some paint that has a texture and is thicker than normal, and does a good job of defending against rock chips

i did it myself, and i sanded down all of the paint and took care of all of the rust. Its pretty easy to do, i mean I'm only 17 and it wasn't very challenging. And yes i did take off the rear bumper to get that far around.

nice looking truck for a 17 yr old
mine was in nearly perfect condition when i bought it 2.5 yrs ago, it needs some TLC now, and its bugging me, but, ill get it done, and she'll look like new again

you need some more light in the picture, with the shadow it looks like the bottom of your truck is missing. looks good from what i can see though. i did herculiner in my bed a few months ago and its some pretty good stuff so long as you don't hammer on it. i was beating on something on the tailgate and dug a chunk out. and if you want to keep the pretty black on it you need to get the uv protectant made by herculiner (20$) or else it'll fade and have a dull flat black to it. mine took just a couple months and a few loads in the bed to make it lose its luster.
