Default 96 dodge ram 1500

Hi, I'm new to this board and come needing help! My name's Mark, I live in north Texas.
I had a friend pull the transmission a couple of years back. At some point later I had another guy come put in a different transmission for me but he never came back and finished everything up. I know why now after working on it the past couple of days. The first guy left a set of wires plugged in on the transmission when he pulled it and stretched the wires on one plug and pulled another wire loose from under the hood and now I have no fire to the plugs.
On the passenger side of the engine, down between the valve cover and intake is a set of wires in a loom. Out of this loom is two sets of three wires. One set of the three wires goes to the distributor, its still intact and hooked up. The other set of three that come out of the harness right beside the distributor wires is pulled loose from something and I can't find where it went. When I found the wire it was sticking up through two of the plug wires by the distributor, stretched and broke. I can't for the life of me figure out where these wires went.
Like I said, they are identical to the three wires that go to the distributor and they both come out of the main loom on the passenger side by each other. They come out of the loom, then go to a plug, then branch off from there.
Is there a diagram available online or from someone here, or would someone be able to tell me where this set of three wires goes?
Thanks for any help.
Mark

the haynes and chiltons manuals have engine wire diagrams.

Thanks for the replies. I located it today, it was the crankshaft position sensor. I just got it started a little while ago.
