I have never seen my accumulator get that wet. The pipes in and out of it yes, but not the entire canister. I think the desiccant inside may be worn out. I would say, if the A/C works fine, then leave it alone. If the A/C is giving you trouble, then you know there is a problem brewing in there and eventually it will need to have work done on the accumulator or another part.
It depends on the relative humidity outside. Mine "sweats," but not quite that much because the air here is drier. It will leave a puddle where I park or at the drive-thru on a hot day. I'm going to replace mine just because it is covered in rust and I hate looking at it.
Mine does the same thing, One day I came back from mudding. I saw tht thing sweating like a ****. I was like great now what did I break. I'm glad to know its normal. Mine will leave a puddle as well. But I don't use the a/c much at all. I do turn it on now and than just to make sure it works.
To answer dhaughan's question It does get warm up there like 23c or 70f.
I know. I don't run it when its 90 and humid up here. I open the slide and roll down the windows. Well I do use it now and than. When I'm on the highway doing 80.
