Default 1997 Wheel Fitment

I have a 1997 2500. There are a lot of late model stock 17 inch wheels for sale. I know the bolt pattern is the same but am unsure of other issues such as brake clearance and offset. Have any of you experience in fitting later model wheels?

I believe as long as you get a set for an 8 lug ram you should be fine

all 8 lug patterns were the same until Ford decided to change in '99. GM and Dodge are compatible and Fords up to and including '98 models will also fit. the problem is backspacing. you will need to do some researching to find the specifics of the different manufacturers.

i have seen some "high positive backspace" wheels for the '03 and newer rams, they use a 6" backspacing, those wont fit at all.
