Default need advice: 3/8 rocker arm torque settings

i bought a push rod length tool to find out how long my push rods for my new engine will need to be. Because i have swapped out the stock cylinder heads for a set of edelbrock performer heads. They have a 3/8 stud and i have a set of full full roller rocker arms.

My question, how tight/how much torque do i need to put on the nut that holds the rocker arms down?

Thanks.

The stock is 21 ft/lbs. My Harland Sharps were also. I would imagine its the same for whatever you're running.

don't forget to factor in lifter preload into the push rod length.

damn your fast hehehe... i just double checked something. Needs to be 25 with the performers.

I probably read that when i originally got the cylinder heads but because ive been waiting so damn long for the push rods it probably slipped my mind. OKies, that one was easy. How do i calculate lifter preload?

I believe it's an extra .030 length on the pushrods. But if you have adjustable rockers, it's a moot point because you're setting preload with the rocker arms.

yes, i have adjustable rocker arms. The stock ones wouldnt fit the performer cylinder heads, so i bought a set.
