Oh yeah, these are really, really safe trucks. The last 2nd gen I had saved my life. I was really lucky to be in that truck when it happened; I hardly had any scratches on me. The lady I hit looked alot worse than me or my girlfriend, and she was in an 06 trailblazer.

Almost every time a forum member gets in an accident, you hear about how bad the other vehicle was damaged, and how there was relatively little damage to the truck.

of course the trailblazer was messed up, its a chevy. from what i've seen, the chevys newer than the 90's seem like they have really light, cheap bodies and don't seem like they'd hold up well in a wreck. you also have to remember that a lot of vehicles over the past decade have crumple points all over them to protect the passengers so when you get hit the vehicle will look like an accordian and the passengers will be in better shape than if they were in an old vehicle.

Oh no, my truck had alot of damage. The doors wouldn't open, and it was also hit twice; Once dead on the front, and again on the driver's side.

2000 and 2001, IIRC, had Off Road editions available. Those were the only ones, I believe, to offer 4.10 gears. The highest option was 3.92 gears without that package, I believe.
