Default Best Tire Size??

I am putting a 2 1/2 inch leveling kit in the front and a 2 inch in the rear of my 00 dodge ram 1500 4x4. I was wondering what would be the biggest size of tires i could put on my 16 inch rims without having any troubles rubbing anywhere?

the 285's fit on a stock 4x4. with stock rims you'll probably rub the control arms with anything bigger than 285 75 16. if you get rims with less backspacing then you can go bigger without rubbing.

The best tire size for these trucks would be the stock tires.

That depends on your application.

3.55 gears, stock height, 245s or 265s (stock sizes) are best, with 285s being OK. 3.92/4.10 gears, 285s are a tad larger are OK.

Default 305/70/16

I had the exact same lift on my old truck. It was a 2000 4X4 SLT Laramine, had the 16 inch chrome wheels I ran 305/70/16 BFG m/ts and they worked perfect. That tire equals 32.8x12/16 or nitto and toyo make a 295/70/16 which is equal to 32.3x11.6/16 I had the nitto 295/70/16s for winter and the 305/70/16 BFGS for summer and offroading. I never had the slightest issue with either tires. Both were mounted on stock dodge wheels. Hope this helps......

i can't argue with that. i got a noticable power increase when i went from my 285 70 17's to the 255 70 17's and i have 3.55 gears.
