Default how do you remove a stubborn ignition coil

hey guys i bought an MSD ignition coil and i went to put it on and i honestly think i still have the factory one on there and i went to take the screws out i sprayed them with penetrating oil first and i still chewed it up all help is appreciated

Well if the screws are stripped beyond turning anymore, first thing I'd suggest is trying to get a pair of vise grips to clamp on the screw heads and see if you can't turn them that way. If not, you're going to have to get a easy-out set and drill the screws out. I've had really good look with reverse drill bits as well. (I love the feeling of drilling something and then it just comes out, its awesome lol).

You can just mount the MSD coil elsewhere and leave the stock coil in place. I seem to recall my phillips head coil bolts were really soft metal too.

Vise grips as tight as you can get them first, turn both ways a little to try and loosen. If that doesn't work, cut the heads off with a grinder and do what wjxavier said. Never mind what AIMS said, he has more experience with nuts!

It's a lot easier to easy-out something with the head still on. It acts as a guide so you don't end up drilling something you're not suppose to lol. But that's a practice we use in my line of work. With a crappy ignition coil, I probably wouldn't care either.

thanks for the info guys they r really easy to mess up i actually got the old one off and the msd on and i took a 3/8 socket and got a hammer and hammered it a little bit to wedge it on and got my ratchet after it and that got it so problem solved lol but thanks for the input that's why i love you guys and this forum .......
