Default Trac Bar Bushing

Track Bar bushing - do you need a press to get it out?

Thanks.

Are you sure the track bar is still OK? Usually by the time the bushing needs replacing, its time to replace the track bar itself.

Yes its a press out...although I'd probably torch it out since it's rubber. Curious...Are you replacing it with a rubber or urethane product?

urthane. dsertdog, does the metal sleeve inside of the trac bar stay in and just the rubber comes out? or does the whole assembly, metal housing and all come out?

I believe in order to fit the urethane you will have to remove the sleeve. But I would suggest consulting the bushing mfr. My experience with urethane bushings doesn't cover the track bar, but I had to "remove" everything when I redid my rear leafs.

B.S. The bushing end, no, but the tie rod end of it goes bad on the stock unit quite often.

Replaced the ball joint end with a Lukes Link. Check it out:

Got ya. Interesting idea.

I apologize, I figured Lukes Link was something to do with the bushing end. Then you said they never go bad, so I assumed you meant the tire rod end, and I was like "WTF???"

Thanks for clearing it up.
