I can't tell from your avatar, but do you have a bug shield on your truck? If you do, that's the main cause of your shakey mirror. I have tightened up every screw and the bolt in the assembly, and it doesn't help.
Also, I WOULD NOT attempt to just pry the door panel out enough to get a socket in there. Max has obviously never experienced just how grand Chrysler's choice in plastic was. It's not hard to remove the door panels. You remove the screw up by the mirror, the two screws for the door grasp, and then you either use two screw drivers and pry out the clips, or you pick up a $6.00 tool at the parts store to do it. They call it like "interior clip remover" or something like that.

I don't know about the 98+, but 94-97 have 3 bolts holding the mirror in place. It would be really hard to pry that panel back enough to have access without breaking it. Also in 94-97 there is a foam insert in there that will make your life rather difficult (I dunno if 98+ have that also).

No bug shield. I'll pull the panel just to be safe, no worries here and get some pics for the next guy to see how it's done..

Kinda OT

I know i have a Quad cab but if you go to advance auto and tell them that their computers will bring up the CTD. Everytime I'm like its a Quad but your computers don't list it that way
