Default Unoiled K&N filters

Guessing these arent the million mile filters? Ended up running across this and was just wondering what people thought of it.

They just come unoiled. Doesn't mean you aren't supposed to oil them upon installation.

I think the reasoning behind that is an oiled filter can't be shipped through regular postage. Might pose a hazard...

Not necessarily a hazard, but probably more costly to ship. Any kind of petroleum-based liquid has to have a materials data sheet filed in compliance with US shipping regulations. On such a cheap item it isn't worth the hassle. Customers can pick up the K&N lube at an auto parts store.
