Squeak
#21
I to have the same noise. Its a squeak that is right behind the rear seat on the drivers side coming from below. It can also be heard from out side if you rock the truck. I have traced it to the body hitting gas tank. There is zero clearance. I have tried adding some spacers to the body mounts last night. I have not drove it yet to find out if it works. I don't under stand how the body could be hitting the tank. Anyone have any ideas?

If I jack up the body there is a small gap of about 2 to 3 millimeters and the noise goes away. Also if i put presure on the gas tank as some one is rocking the truck the noise goes away. The tank is hitting on a rolled flat edge on the very back on the body. It you look between the cab and the bed you can see the tank and the piece of the body that is rubbing. The spacers did not work I need to put them on the back side of the body mounts. This started happening about a year ago.

I wouldn't think the tank would be directly strapped to the body. There has to be some sort of spacers to prevent rubbing and breaking the gas tank. You have to remember the bed has a lot of sway and movement, more than the cab. If there are no spacers, then like Zman said, they must have been removed at some point.
