For the OP, check this website out. I think this might give you some ideas if you plan on building your own. I don't know what they cost, but take a look anyway.

As far as the cargo area you speak off, I'd do something like the new Ram's have except in the bed floor. Make it to where you can flip up a portion of the bed floor for an air tight cargo area. Make some removable insulation so you can convert it to a cooler whenever you want. That would be awesome.

Hey glad to see you two above brought this topic back into order! lol sorry for not responding sooner...I posted and then went camping! my bad...I think Im ight have to photoshop something up to see if I like it.

I like your idea of a way to get to it from the bed floor. My only concern would be getting water and other *#&$ in it. plus the skills to cut it myself! :|

I have been thinking about this as well. My problem is that I am going to be pulling a big travel trailer and am concerned about the clearance between that 35X12.75X16.5 and the front of the travel trailer. I might have to go with one of those jeep type bed spare holders.....any ideas?

you could always put the spare in the bed and run a thick cable between the two front tie downs and the tire then put a fat lock on it.

yeh but I want it to sit up like a prerunner I was hoping to find something designed like a fithwheel hitch where the whole mount sides out of brackets when you need the bed space I like the one on the tiregate websited that is an inboard tailgate replacement but im sure that is 500+ and once you add in buying a good looking wheel and almost 300 for the tire I have thats more than a grand on one mostly cosmetic accessory when all that is realy neccessary is chaining the spare in the bed with a lock. But my spare dosnt look good and thats not as cool looking as the ones on the website.
