Speedometer in my '95 3/4 Ton Ram likes to work intermittently and then drop to zero. It will then bounce back up to speed and fall again. My question is, what can cause this symptom? Is the speedo electrical or mechanical? Suggestions?

 

There is a sensor on the tranny(towards the rear). Make sure the connector is good first. Then you might try replacing it.

 

My ram did this same type of thing when the speed sensor on the rear diff went out. But my truck is a '99 1/2ton, so it might be completely different from yours. Good luck!
