Default Speedometer Calibrator?

After some thought about keeping the odometer "true" in regards to the change in bigger tires, I have decided I want to recalibrate the speedometer. I checked hypertech and a new one through them is $230 shipped....anyone got one that will work with my truck they wanna sell me?

if all you want to get out of this is something to recal your speedo, then this recalibrator from jet performance could help you out. and you could resell it

Wanna know the cheap way to do it?

Drive down a street that has one of those "Your speed, 100MPH" boxes and you'll just have to remember the difference from the box to your speedo. Simple, elegant, and best of all FREE!!!!

you can also take it to the dealer for a 100.00 or so and ask them to recalibrate your "pinion factor". This will recalibrate your spedo for the new tire size.

change out the speedo ring in the T-Case
they did that on a Petersons 4x4 dodge when they broke the stock tail housing, and put a SYE in

I already took the truck to a dodge dealership and they said it cannot be recalibrated, whatever it is from the factory is what it is, it cannot be changed.

And I know my correction is 8.6%, so I do know how fast I'm going, what I'm after is a permanent change though cause my odometer is not racking up the true miles.

superchips made a "tire pack" a while ago that could do it...

I'd call around to some tire shops or off road shops and see what they've got.

I was thinking the same thing, LOL I'm not totally sure about a 97(some may be obd1 and some od2) but I know for sure on 98 and up, tire size can without a doubt be changed.
