The heavy-duty 3M double-sided tape is the best. Not the cheap stuff with the green and white backing paper. The good stuff with the red plastic backing. Put it on the emblem, then use an X-acto knife to trim around the letters/design. Then peel and stick.

I agree. You are asking for swirls and scratches using a wheel like that.

FWIW, I used wd-40 to remove the adhesive.

i used soapy water and a credit card to get the dealer decal off my thunderbird years ago and it worked great with no high rpm/paint scratching disks to worry about. with the drill disk thing all it would take would be one grain of sand to really muck up the paint.
