Default Vacuum leak...confirm my suspicion

Ok so i got a 95 ram 1500 the other day and it has a BAD vacuum leak! When i put my thumb over the end of the hose that runs from the valvecover breather to the airbox ontop of the tb it has alot of vacuum, is this a sign of a leaking intake gasket?

Checked it against our 96 ram with same engine and the 96 doesnt pull near as much vacuum

I can hear it whistling from the front of the engine, and i've checked all the vacuum hoses and cleaned the IAC.

its also building enough pressure to suck the hose to my thumb which my 96 doesnt do.

you have to pull the pcv hose and plug it and the port that it plugs into, then run the truck for 30 seconds and see if you have vacuum at the crank case breather hose. if you do then you have a leaky plenum gasket. did you read the tsb?
