If you are talking about a TB spacer between the TB and intake manifold, take it off! It is just "taking up space" so to speak.

Return the spacer. Keep the 14X3" air cleaner.

The spacer does nothing except limit your air cleaner choices.

So do you have a TB spacer between the TB and intake manifold?

the only time you need a spacer with a 14x3 is if you have a drop base on the air cleaner housing. the spacer goes between the housing and the tb. as far as a 1 inch spacer under the tb, its worthless but if you want to keep it on there then you could get a 14x2 (if they even have that size). that wouldn't let as much air through though.

Good call, Sheriff. Forgot about the air cleaner spacers. I have the Edlebrock 14X3 (forgot the model number) and it looks as though it has a drop, but it's flush. It sits directly on top of the throttle cable braket. It's tight, but fits and nothing binds.

if it is on the cables then you might want to get a mirror under it to make sure it seals against the tb when the wing nut is tightened down. otherwise you'll be pulling in unfiltered air.

What? Good call? NO SHIP(T) And without knowing what the hell the OP has on there or what he's talking about, the previous replies are all obvious!!!! And besides that, if he is talking about a 1" spacer between the TB and the round air cleaner, then that's just dumb.(Sounds like he wants to install a 14X3, so why would there be a 1 inch spacer there with a stock intake) Take the F'n thing off and use a shorter one. Sorry to sound like an *** but wtf? This topic has been discussed so many time's it's ridiculous. Not to mention, I'd like to know what he means by "I have a spacer"? Does that mean he has one in his hand or installed on the vehicle?

It's sealing. I've got it sitting on top of the stock 'fiber' air box gasket and I also slit a rubber hose down the side and place that over the bottom ring of the air cleaner. It seals.
