Trans swap started. Need advice.
haha. I have 6 cars, 2 motorcycles, 2 boats, a ton of tools and a very understanding wife. My one compromise is that she has a spot in the garage for her car.
Well I put the truck right in the middle for easy access. The wife is just reminding me that I haven't been out working on the truck.

For anyone who cares, I'm finally done. I seemed to find every reason in the world not to work on this project. But I couldn't avoid it any longer.
The used trans seems good. I only drove about a mile and back, just wanting to make sure I didn't have any leaks or other issues. But it seems to sound and shift good.
I had run into all kinds of issues with the trans lines. I removed the check valve. This truck had been worked on before and the line down by the trans were jury-rigged.
Also the shifter was out of adjustment. That was a pain to get into and freed up. I also replaced one of the U-joints in the front drive shaft. I guess you would say it was the middle one. That was a pain.
Did I mentioned that I had a leaking freeze plug. Fixed that too. More fun.
I was planning on selling it but I guess I'll keep it thru the winter. Sell it next spring.
Anyway, good to be done.
Does anybody need an old burned up trans? The casing is good, possibily other parts. Otherwise I guess it goes to the scrap heap soon.
