missing tach wire?

missing tach wire?
i have an msd 6al2 installed in my truck and in order to work the rev limiter i need a tach wire to splice into. the problem is i wanna try to avoid running it through the firewall to get at the one behind the dash. anybody know where a tach wire is in the engine compartment thats fairly easily accessible?
