Lightbulb Makes perfect sense...

Yep, that makes perfect sense..

I could see how it could be a warn out spring buckling up. Thanks guys I will investigate in innards over the next couple days. If I can find out a reasonably priced fix i'll be sure to post back up.

As always a quick response, thanks again guys!

Iti is not so much a spring in the conventional sense of the word. Make sure you disconnect batter and disccharge any potential engery before starting (air bag in face...)

But I wonder if the issue is the rock solid ram steering issue.....instead of clock spring. CS usually casues other symptoms....

Mine was doing the same thing. Squeaking real bad. I think it WAS the rock solid bushing. I dumped some oil on it and hasnt done it since. But then I just did it yesturday. I have noticed the wheel got essier to turn after that though. May want to look at that also, if you have it.

When I turn the steering wheel, it makes a grinding/rubbing noise. It sounds like it's coming from where the steering wheel attaches to the column. I took it apart once and could not see anything but it is coming from inside the cab. I've search the forum with no solutions

Possible bearing, or clockspring issue. I suspect you are going to have to tear it down further to find out for sure.
