Well, if you dont use your power outlet for anything. I guess you could cut the wires for that and use that source..

I did that in my old ride.. Never used the power outlet in it. So i clipped the wires and used them for somthing else. What are you doing? Putting lights in the floorboards? or what? Thats alittle ricey IMO. But it is your truck.

Ive been useing my power outlet in my truck for a spot light. So im not going to clip my wires for anything.

EDIT: Just make sure you unhook your batt first...Obviously.

On the Driver's side, under the dash, there is a little rubber grommet that you can drill a hole through. That will give you access to the battery. It's the one that I used to run all my power wires for the amp.

i used an empty fuse spot on the dash fuse panel for my reverse lights, doing that makes it where they can't have power with the key off.

as far as going through the fire wall, look up and to the left of the brake pedal, on the firewall you will see a rubber plug that you can pull off and pop a hole through. if you don't make the hole too big then it will be water proof because the rubber will squeeze the wire. i have my off road lights and my amp wire run through that plug.

yeah basically floorboard lights, its a little ricey, kinda thought the same thing when i was posting it but whatever, but yeah i might use the power outlet in the future so im gonna leave that and use laramie1997's idea

now you say just drill a hole in the grommet itself? and wheres the grommet located? could you possibly post a pic or something?

pull the grommet out before you try to put a hole in it, it'll make it a lot easier because thats some pretty thick rubber and getting a drill up there would be a pain.

that would work too but the factory rubber grommet is in a good location and it just pops into the hole in the firewall.
