Default loud muffler

I am lookin for a muffler that will give my lil truck some noise. it is only a 39L v6 but im sure there is somethin out there. i was thinkin bout maybe a flowmaster super 40. any others that someone knows about? and as far as exiting goes which ever muffler i get i will most likely get turn downs for now. money does play a part here as well. so if it is gonna be $200 for a muffler im not interested.

flowmaster does make some nice mufflers. i'm not quite sure how your truck will sound with a v6 and a super 40, but on the v8's, it has a nice rumble.

cut yours off and measure it. then go by a muffler shop and tell them that you want a straight pipe 4 inches longer than your muffler with both ends flared out to fit over your existing pipe (inside diameter the same as the outside diameter on your pipes). then when you get home clamp it on and you'll be good to go. its either that or a 30$ glass pack, they sound good too.

this is true, but some states obviously require a muffler to pass inspection. here in VA, you have to have a muffler. i've been running straight pipe lately, but now i have to go buy that $30 glasspack to pass lol

just do this:

then cut yours in half and put the shell on top of the pipe an it'll look like you have a muffler. like this:

and don't pick on my welds, the welder had issues that day.

i didn't have my old muffler come inspection time so i stopped by the muffler shop and grabbed one of his scrap ones that was beside the building to hollow out.

What does a V8 sound like with straight pipes?
I'm in Montana- no state inspection and no one gives a crap
When I have the money for pipes and welding I'm taking out my cat and looking at a better "muffler".

Ive had quite a few different set ups with my truck. Ive had straight pipes with dual 90s with crome tips. then i cut it off under the cab (rusted out). Then I added a high flow muffler. Then after headers my cat broke loose inside so now I have a hollowed cat with a high flow muffler exiting under the cab/box. I think the best sounding with these engines is stock 2 1/2 exhaust with a straight pipes. (stock cat, muffler delete). I have a couple friends with that set up in second gens and you can tell its a dodge magnum engine, because of its sound before you even see the vehicle . they have thier own exhaust note a ford or chevy cant copy
