so ik there has been a million post about this subject but i have a few questions, i was looking around and the 99 rams have around 300hp and 333ft lb of torque, im assuming thats with out the deathflash, and also while i was looking around superchips will give a gas truck about 40 more hp and torque. i have been looking into getting a superchip for quite some time now and yes i do have the death flash so will getting a superchip give me a nice big noticable difference or is it just gonna get rid of the deathflash, and my last question is what would be the best tuner to get if i were to get one, im looking for more power and speed thanks in advance for the help ik theres thousands of post of this subject so sorry for posting another one

 

Where in the world did you get 300hp from? I believe the 318 is 225 and the 360 is 245 at the crank.

 

ummm, your #s are wrong, its more like 220 or sumthin like that AT THE CRANK

Yeah, I have always been under the impression that a stock gasser 5.9 is probably less than 200 horse at the rear wheel. Thats POWER

 

its raw 200 hp though, not like the new hemi pushing like 400, its just seems weird but all well,

but yeah its a very noticible gain when i put superchips on from having the flash , it felt like a new truck with all the new found power .

but after surgery im looking into sct because there better and they take off torque managment which i heard is really nice

 

I have a 2001 ram 5.9 it has 3:55 gears 2" spring spacers with 285/75 16 dunlop range rover. The only mods it has is a K&N CAI and An electric fan for a diesel truck. On the dyno I put down 173.48hp and 257.94tq 66 degrees and 36% humidity and SAE corrected. I also jusy check and I also have the deathflash on my truck, I always wondered why it would do a burnout.

 

The V10 is rated at 325hp. Sorry, guys.

 

I just installed the 3815 on my 318 with cat delete, hooker muffler, 180 thermostat. Now it feels like a v8. Before the truck was weak as _________./ I've searched and the specs say I only gained 20hp and 30ft'lbs of torque but it sure does feel better. I now think those week 3.55 gears pulling my 22' boat will be ok with just this bit of extra power.

Can't wait for my 1.7 roller rockers.

 

so on the superchip website their cortex seems like a really nice chip, but it doesnt say the price or if it will work on this gen truck does anyone know the answer to those? and whats are some other options besides superchip i really dont know much about these
