Default please help!!

i have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 with the 318 in it. i put a new motor in it on march break and have drivin it since then with no problems and i drive it really hard, i went on a trip for a couple days and my sister decides to take my truck without my permission and the rad hose fell off and she over heated it and she said she shut it off and waited 45mins to an hour before she started it and when she put it in gear it died and it was nocking she said.

how bad would it be cause i dont think the botom end would go from being overheated, i haven't heard it run yet i have to go the her freinds house to get it tomarow so if the motor is toataly done she is paying for a new one and she just bought a brand new dodge so i told her im driving that untill mine is fixed....she didnt like that but thats what she gets for breaking mine cause i need a vehicle evryday just liek her

thanks for any help im guna need it

New engine is in order. I am only speculating here but it sounds like she ran it for a while without coolant before shutting it down or didn't wait long enough for it to cool down or did other damage and didn't tell you about it. Any way you look at it you are gonna need a new motor.

Probably spun a bearing. My first wife did the same thing when a head gasket blew in my new 1967 Barracuda formula S.

Hate to agree with Speed and Charlie, but It sounds like she done burnt it up on you. Even if it still does turn over and run, the damage is already done. You could pull it out and pull it all apart and see for sure, but you'll probably spend more in parts and machine shop labor to correct the damage than a good used or rebuilt short block would cost you.

(This is why my g/f doesn't even have keys to my trucks)

It will if you loosen the upper radiator hose! LOL Of course that won't help either one of you.

I meant as far as transportation goes. Just tell her you are checking the oil and cut the clamp off. Dodge should cover a missing or broken clamp ! LOL
