If you look in my sig picture it is cracked open...kinda hard to see it but it is open. I just checked pavementsucks and i did respond but it was about a month after you posted. This summer i have been working a lot and i'm at college now so i'm not able to get on as much as i'd like to.

 

Dealer installed, maybe...factory installed, definitely not.

 

i may be mistaken but i believe 2nd gen dakota sports may have had that option. there are two on my block that have them, and i have a friend who bought his 99 dakota sport with it in already, he doesnt know if its factory, dealer or aftermarket

 

I would do it if I still lived in Texas. I could only use it for like like a month or two up here during the "construction" season.

 

Hi, I recently bought a 98' Ram 1500 single cab and it has the whole for a sunroof, but the sunroof is missing. I was fishing for opinions, should I just cover it or would it be a cheaper option if I just buy an aftermarket one and install it myself? What are good sites for aftermarket parts? 2nd gens do come with sunroofs, they are super rare but they did come out of the factory, a very expensive option that is why there are only a handful of them.

 

Being a reg cab I would say it's after market, Post a pix of the hole and it's dimensions.

Your right very rare indeed, one of the main reasons I will never get rid of my truck. I have only seen 3 other trucks with it, 96,and two 97. You can get parts for them but your parts guy will have to hunt hard to find them.

Mine is full power, slides open and tilts up.

 

I was searching the web about rams with sunroofs. And came across this topic.I have a 2000 Laramie 1500 with a sunroof I never saw another second gen with a sunroof. How can I find out if it's factory on dealer installed?I mean it looks factory.

I want to the dealer and gave them the vin.I didn't see it on the paper don't know if it was the build sheet they have me or not.its not on the sticker in my glove box.
