Ignition coil would be my guess, or a battery issue.

well let's see. you've given us about as much, if not more, than most noobs do when they post a problem, so i'll play.

you said it died, and then after being towed home by a ford, it fixed itself and is running ok without you doing anything. so it must be an emotional problem more than a mechanical one.

someone already guessed coil, and battery.
alternator maybe, but it wouldn't have fixed itself.

loose connector on the pcm.
