i have just been throwing the idea around about doing something with the heads on my 5.2 and had a few questions for the knowledgable. what is the difference between a magnum 360 head and a 360 r/t head? can a 360 r/t head be installed on a 5.2 without any flaws? would it be a good match for a 318 or would it be too much? what could i expect to see for gains if i had the magnum heads ported and polished? has anybody installed aftermarket heads like what edelbrock has? http://www.hughesengines.com/Index/p...=&partid=22813

 

I believe they are pretty much the same EXCEPT the porting and valves. The 318 and 360 are the same engine pretty much. You can find cheaper heads on ebay. CCH sells a 2.02 head for like 750 a pair. Edelbrock heads are great but it says on their site not for emission controlled vehicles. Something to think about if you have emissions where your at. They are also pretty damn expensive.

I wouldn't see a nice set of heads being an issue with the mods you already have
