The factory setup uses a relay, full current does NOT go through the switch. This has been standard on most cars for a very long time.

A male to female adapter with a short span of wires. You can then move the wires around in the adapter until you get the right contacts that make the lights work. That'd be the simplest way to do it, but not necessarily the best.

You might be able to find the adapter online, otherwise you'll probably have to make your own from parts you can get at most auto stores.
Im not sure how that will exactly help. It seems the big problem is that one light is using the high beam wire and drawing from it which is messing up the entire system. But then again i dont know. THe wires though are in the correct places. High to high, low to low, and grd to grd. So they dont neeed to be switched. I sent the lights back though because they are not as advertised. Im going with a different setup, but i fear it will be the same thing. If so, then ill have no choice but to start wiring.

Hey Mohawk when you get the new lights in, if you have problems let me know. You only live like an hour or so away. I will give you a hand if you need it.

True, but the factory wires going to and from the standard relay are too high a gauge, this creates resistance and a voltage drop(try it, i bet you see and least 1-2 volt drop). its standard to run aftermarket wires and relays, really helps with light output.

Nope, you are both mistaken. The 99-01 Sports have a relay for the high beams, and all Rams with factory fog lights have a relay for the fogs, thats it. The 99-01 Sports have no relay for low beams, and no non-Sport Ram has any factory relays for the headlights.

If you don't believe me, go look in your PDC.

yes you are correct i misread the relay decal. so this makes it even more important to fit an aftermarket relay.

The low beam relay is in the switch.
