Correct me if I'm wrong, but sounds like you changed your story.

No offense man, but I'm calling B.S. If the switch has a built in relay, it wouldn't melt occasionally as has been known to happen (and happened to me).

Not at all. My original comment was that the headlight current doesn't go through the switch, meaning the actual switching component you turn on and off with your fingers. It doesn't. That switch activates a relay that just happens to be inside the switch housing. It is a stupid setup as this makes the entire switch housing prone to heat buildup from the current flowing through the relay, but my original response remains correct although technically I can see your point. Just wear a hat and no one will notice.

I even went into the service manual and went through the wiring diagrams, but Dodge shows all the relays as switches, with the label "Horn Relay" or "A/C relay" or whatever.

Since neither of us can find proof one way or another yet, I'll call it a day on that argument. Agree to disagree.

I got my relays from Advance Auto. Standard 30A automotive relays.

HID upgrades are nice, but make sure to get 35w ones. The 55w units will be to bright and blind oncoming traffic.

These are the cheapest excellent quality ones I can find so far:

Avoid eBay units if you can. Usually overpriced, or priced way to low (to good to be true), one extreme or another, and they are usually poor quality (don't ask how I know).

Default Its the Wiring harness

Hi, new guy here. The problem is with the wiring harness that came with the lights you bought. I had the same problem when I changed my headlights to a dual bulb, HID setup. Look at the photos I took:

You need to switch the Blue wire with the black wire. The way your lights came out of the box isn't wired correctly for the Ram, the ground (-12) is in the wrong position. If you switch the blue and black wire, everything will work fine.

Here are photos of the headlights I installed:

High beams / Day time running lights (Canada)

HID's Low beams, (4300K). I just turned them on so that is why they still look blueish, they are actually white like real HID's on Benz's and BMWers.

Default headlights issue

Man, I now this thread go's back a while, but it is very informative. My girl friends headlamps are dim on high beam, and low beams are ok, and the high beam indicator lamp is always on. Found out with the help of this thread, the bulbs are the wrong ones. Had 9007 bulbs. Thanks for all the help. this forum rocks!

Default Projector light Problems

Hg1, what do you mean by switching out the blue and black wires? I have just installed these lights and have similar problems, such as my fogs dont come on when headlights are on, dashboard always reads hi beams on, and when I actually do turn on my high beams both low and high come on but they are dimmer than when only the low beams are on. I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 sport.
