Default noob question-oil pressure.

I am a new owner of my 2000 dodge ram. the oil pressure is betwen the half way, and 3 quarter marks on the gauge (counting away from redline, above 40). and idk if that is high or is it normal?

If is sits around 40 yr fine. If you hit the gas and it moves up some yr fine. Mind dose.

Fairly worthless gauge for real world situations. It is only usefull as a somewhat accurate indicator of whether or not you are completely out of oil. If you are truly concerned with keeping an eye on where your oil pressure is you should install a good quality mechanical gauge with the metal line and not plastic which WILL melt sooner or later.
