Agreed, my $20 craftsman digital volt meter I bought 5 years ago is probably one of the best investments I made considering how often I use it.

Um for those who are recommending soldering and shrink tubing that is in fact the very best connection possible however for a kid on a limited budget with few tools who was already in the use of the worst connectors known to man a butt connector is one hell of a step up from what he was using.

HA HA Max would burn the truck down if he soldered. Dude you ****ed something up somewhere. If I wasn't busy tomorrow I would tell you to swing by or something and I would help ya out.

I've bought the high solder guns before, but you know what? I prefer the $20.00 butane torch for solder. I liked it so much that I bought two of them. One has the iron on it, and the other has the hot blower on it. I'll light them both and go to town. Now, you don't have to have two, so $20.00 for the kit and maybe $3 for the lead? Why not?

Let's not forget that he was using pliers to mash the crimps down. Not the best idea out there.
