Default egr question

Ok guys i have my intake off right now to fix the vacuum leak. I noticed that my egr was melted (the plastic part) can i just remove the egr and not have it? Besides removing that damn pipe out the back of the intake was a pain in the *** and I broke the sensor that is by it that goes in to the block and don't know what it is yet.

It's a 1995 ram2500

Thanks

That sensor you broke is your oil sending unit and you definitely need to replace that. You could theoretically remove your egr but it depends on where you live and whether or not you have emissions testing and what type of testing they do. If you are in Cali. don't even think about it. If you are in the sticks like many of us who have no or limited emissions testing I would say go for it. the only issue you may have is you check engine light coming on.
