You better check again because the fact that you have a rear sway bar indicates you may have the factory camper package and that would mean a Dana 70. I agree, it is very confusing. I see the tags under the cover bolts are intact. Isn't there any info on them?

I used th info directly off teh tag and went the the DODGE PDF and searched, It came up as a dana 60 with 4:10 gears. My truck is the heavy duty package, but its not a V10 package. My GVW is 8800 not the 7500 hence the 4:10 gears instead of the 3:54. I am now certain I have the dana 60. Might not matter much as I have found a 1995 dana 80 with 4:10 gears. Just trying to get it to my place.

That just muddies it up even more. My understanding is the 8800# vehicles had the 70.

Got in touch with Dodge today, The dana 60 was the factory rear end in the 2500 series with the 5.9. Few were upgraded to the dana 70 on the 5.9 gas, but they were almost exclusively long beds with a few exceptions. There you have it. He said probally 85% of the dodge 2500 gas motors were dana 60 rear diffs. Look at my tag it shows a spicer 6, which is the dana 60. Hope this helps someone ele out.

IIRC, dodge put a sway bar on their trucks in 97 or 98, my 95 don't have a rear swaybar

d 70's only came on v-10's and diesels. Thats it, no exceptions. You have a Dana 60 rear.

Another place where the Chilton manual is FOS. I have found more errors in that POS manual than anything I have ever seen. I think I'll use it for toilet paper.
