Default stacking front spacers on 95 ram 1500

Hey yal, i gotta 95 exten cab dodge i got from one of my coworkers the other week. Turning it into my mud boggin truck. i planned on runnin 3" lift on some 33x13.50's, but when i started tearin everything down i noticed it already had 1.75 or 2" spacer already installed. How dangerous will it be if i stack my 3" spacer ontop of that. I will be welding them together after i bolt them up as well. i wont be taking this truck far from home at all...maybe 20 miles at most for local mud bogs around here. any input??

as long as you welded them really good, i don't see a problem with it really. i think thats what some spacers that are sold are anyway, welded.

YOu would be much better off getting new springs. Your truck would ride and handle much better and give your suspension more travel. IMHO stacking spacers is like stacking blocks, its not a great idea.
Also, with over a 3'' lift you need to replace your track bar and the control arms.

Oh yeah, forgot to read that. If its your mud truck, not your daily, do as you like.

Yup, anything over 2"-3" of lift will require you upgrade those suspension parts already mentioned. If you weld them nice (don't just tack them together), should be fine, although new springs would be the best solution.

The bad clearly outweighs the cheap in this situation. The only thing scarier than a 5" spacer would be two spacers stacked to get 5". I don't think I would even feel comfortable riding in a bog with that set up let alone cruising down the road for 40 miles.

Probably a forum search would reveal just how popular this mod is...NOT! While your at it, just cut the factory links and track bar and weld the appropriate spacing in those as well.

Hmmm maybe its not clear that I'm being a bit sarcastic. But no biggie. He's gonna bog a 1500, which means if hes really serious he'll be so busy replacing front axle parts on that D44 He'll be broke long before his stacked spacers break. So when he finally gets that D60 built he can grab the front springs off that 2500 or 3500 and slap them in there with ONE spacer.
Seriously, I can't believe anyone would endorse the idea of stacking spacers for any reason anyway. One spacer per corner, per truck should be the max.
