I would start by contacting Dan the Fastman. He makes 52mm TBs, so he might have some insights for ya. Just tell him (if it comes up in conversation) that you are having fun doing it yourself, otherwise you'd purchase it from him. I never talked to him over the phone, but in emails he was very friendly and helpful when I got my 52mm.

If you are gonna go all out eventually on the 408, you may want to go larger than 52. Not a huge deal, but maybe a 53mm or even 55mm if you plan on supercharging or turbocharging it.

I couldn't find small enough ones on jegs, we need 1 inch butterflys and the smallest they sell are 1 9/16 so looks like im making my own..

 

Any chance you can make a few extra 52mm plates and sell em on the forum?
