what's the timetable for the stock gasket blowing out? i had my engine rebuilt and the guy put a new gasket on and that was 10k miles ago.
I'm not sure what the timetable is, but I'm sure someone else on here knows. Do you know if he put an OEM gasket on or an aftermarket kind? Also, there is a way to tell if oil is in your intake, all you do is take off your air filter housing, and look down the bores of your throttle body. If you see oil pooling inside, you have a leak. You will need a flashlight.
I redid my plenum about a year ago and got the $24 kit from O' Reilly's I didn't know about the bolts needing to be replaced though. What's the cost of this Hughes kit and where can I get one. Also if I think it's the gasket but there's not much to hardly any oil down in the bottom pan should I redo it anyway. ( Look at my post called " Low Compression in cyclinder #6 ") and see what you think.
Look up the posts by JasonW and get his take on it. He says he didn't have hardly any oil on his until they took it apart and then he realized how bad it was. That may give you some indication of which way to go.
