Default 2" Susp Lift Pricing

So my boss got me pricing through work through suspensionconnection.com and I can get a 2" suspension lift kit for $122.67.

Its this one:

Would I really need to purchase new shocks?

I'm certainly no expert, but from what I've read, new shocks would be recommended, but not required. But, I've read that those who did not buy newer, longer shocks suffered from shocks being taxed too far...and regretted it.

One more note...even with your boss's discount that isn't that great of a deal. I say that because I'm shopping for the same parts. All that kit comes with are coil spring spacers and add a leafs. You can find those same parts right now on ebay for about $100 from reputable shops sell things on ebay. I'm just saying...I would shop around before jumping on that one.

Yeah I definitely wasn't going to purchase it immediately, I just wanted to see what kind of price he could get me. And I'll still not sure exactly what kind of lift/leveling I want to do.

What do you mean? I ask because I was planning on doing add-a-leafs soon too. Why would you need to use a torch? I was under the impression that they would be a bolt on installation? No?

There are bands around the end of the packs that need to be opened up to put the new leaf in place. Trust me I have leafs that need to go in but I aint got no torch!

That sucks...I was planning on getting some because my rear suspension sucks. I know new shocks will help, but I was hoping that would give it some new life.

Which ones did you get that it requires removal of the metal straps? Are they really long add-a-leafs or something because most advertise/claim to be "simple bolt on installation"?

Shocks wont help you at all!!! All add-a-leafs require this to be done. Every truck with the metal straps this needs to be done. It's in the directions. I was pissed when I read this. Please I invite you to make a new thread about this and see what the old heads say.
