Default tires

Hi all. I have a 99 ram 1500 2wd with no lift that has 285 75 16's on the stock rims. The tires need to be replaced so here is my question. I was told by a tire shop that a 33 12.5 16 tire is the same as what i have now on the truck and that it will fit on my truck. is this true?

285mm/ 25.4= 11.22 in wide currently

11.22x .75=8.41

8.41x2= 16.8

16.8+16= 32.83 in tall currently

so, those are the exact same size, just standard measurements instead of metric

So a 33 12.5 16 will fit. Cool. Do you happen to know who makes a good tire at a good price in this size?

visit your local tire shops, my g/f needed some a/t 17s and one of my local shops get blemished tires cheap and she got some coopers, the only reason they were called blems is that the white letters werent %100 perfect, which went on the inside anyway
