Overheating Problem
I have a 00 Ram 1500 with a 5.9L. I am currently having overheating issuses. I have replaced the radiator and water pump 2yrs ago. It started overheating last month, so I replaced the thermostat, but it hasn't changed anything. There are no leaks. Any ideas?

Overheating has but a few causes . First , the t-stat can stick . Can you recall what type/kind of t-stat was installed ? Personally , I buy dealer t-stats only . Just because it was replaced once , doesn't mean it's not bad again .
Circulation . There's a few things you can do to check this out . Drain a little a/f , start engine cold with rad cap off and wait till the temp gets into the 200 range , the t-stat should open and you should begin to see the a/f circulate . If you see circulation right away , the t-stat is stuck open .
It could be poor circulaion in the heater core ( I doubt the rad would fail after only 2 yrs)Once all warmed up , are you getting lots of heat ? Check the input and output of the heater hose temps , they should be the same and becareful , they should be hot too !
The clutch fan can do it also , but it's under certain circumstances . Can you be more specific as when/how the truck overheats . Is it at idle or on the hwy , for example .
Leaks and air can do it , but ,with no leaks , the only other culprit is the rad cap . Has it ever been replaced ?
Another issue is airflow through the rad . The rad should be fine , but , do you have AC ? Are you using it when it begins to overheat ? Debris can get caught between the rad and condenser , make sure it's clean .
Before it can be properly assessed , give more detail please , it helps lots , I don't like typing that much , lol , and can certainly keep going with suspects for over-heating .
