Default Anybody ever take their PCM apart?

I have an idea to spiff up my PCM. I was wondering if anybody has taken theirs apart for painting or powder coating or such things?

You can only really remove the cover, all the electronics are sealed in a gel.

So you can't take the back part off? Like remove the electronics from it

Well maybe your OBD2 PSM is different than mine but I believe on mine only the cover comes off and the PCB/electronics are screwed into the case and then covered up with gel.

My PCM has six torx head screws on it, but I'm not sure if that'll take it apart, it doesn't seem like it would come apart. I also don't know if your 2001 PCM is the same as my 1996 PCM..

Holy crapola batman, don't do it, unless you don't mind buying a new one if you screw it up. You want to dress it up, make a sheet metal cover for it and dress that up all you want. I wouldn't go messing with the brain of my truck, I'm not that crazy!

I could probably do what I want to do without taking it apart. I just pondered it to be on the safer side
