On my truck if you set the top **** on the very first setting (all the way to the left) that is recirculate, everything else is outside air. On my truck I don't have that little button below the temp, now what the heck is that?

^^ heated mirrors or heated seats, kinda useless in warm places. I don't even know how they sell those options in California, Nevada, or Arizona. The summers are HOT and the winters here are nothing to speak of. It's 70 degrees outside but I really want my butt to be just a tad bit warmer. Hahah just silly.

yea max ac auto recirculates on mine you can tell cause when you do it on high you can really hear it whoosh when the vent inside opens.. mine used to do that same thing colder on the highway... but my heater is the same way lol hotter on the highway if my truck isnt moving it blows quite cool air.. idk my truck is a noob. everything about it is bass ackwards but im not sure what is wrong with my ac now the ac clutch wont kick on so right now i have it jimmy rigged to a switch till i figure out the problem my computer shows a short or something in the clutch but i think its just the relay too lazy to put a new one in atm its alot cooler with the pump on all the time without the computer shutting it down ocassionally.

but anyways yea the max ac should be recirc

if i am not mistaken that has a thin cable on the back of it pop off your dash and take out the 4 screws holding the pannel in and check that cable or it could have popped out of the hole on the lever under the dash that it pulls

Yea, it's probably just a loose cable or vacuum connection. I try to switch mine around every so often just to keep the connections from seizing up over time without use.

Yes the "Max A/C" setting is the recirculate position on a 2001.
