Default UPDATED: Superchips 3815 problems....

I just a 3815 tuner!! YAY!! Not really. It does not work. I keep getting the "cannot detect ignition on" message. I tried the tuner on two trucks!! Anyone else ever experience this?
The tuner has version 1. 36, database 305 080309, and a mfg. date of 08/05/2009. I put an email into Superchips, but I think the tuner is D.O.A.!! Any input?

You do realize you have to have the ignition on for it to read and program correctly? The key must be in the ON not Start postion(one click foward from off). Superchips Tech is monday thru friday only. And call them direct, they are busy folks over there and emails sometimes don't get answered right away. Also did you try the update from superchips.com? It takes about 5 minutes tops to download and update the tuner.

Yes, I know the ignition has to be on. It states not to turn the ignition until after the unit is connected. Update from Superchips.com or Flashpaq.com?

I'm not sure how much closer I can follow the basic directions. Plug tuner in, select program, select read vehicle, then turn on ignition. Right?

Plug in, follow instructions! You need to turn it on and off a few times during the programming process, not just once. If it gives you that error.... maybe check to see that you turned the key 2 clicks forward (you will hear the fuel pump when your in the right position).

Yes, I can hear the fuel pump prime. Once I select read vehicle, the next screen states to turn ignition to on position. The next screens states to make sure radio, a/c, any accessories are off, then the screens displays initializing. Then I get the "cannot detect ignition on"

Superchips.com there is a downloader program you have to install on your computer. And you will need the USB cable to connect the tuner to the computer.

Update the programmer. Worst case, they can "pull" info from your tuner and maybe see what the problem is, but they need you to set up an account with them by downloading that program (it walks you through it) and updating the tuner. Maybe even just updating may fix your issue.
