i just replaced my plenum gasket and intake gasket and cleaned the iac and a shop checked all my vacuum lines and they all checked out ok, its making a whistling noise only when i accelerate and it doesn't seem to have the power it should when i accelerate. its also burning oil somewhere, it doesn't leak it just burns it out the exhaust that i haven't found yet. tested my head gaskets and they were good
Cleaning the IAC does not mean it's working correctly. And is the round gasket on top of the throttle body to air intake installed? And after plenum fix, was anything done about the cat and o2's?
My truck has done something similar since the day I've gotten it. Minor increase or decrease on throttle makes a tiny squeak but it's at the pedal. Sounds like I'm stepping on a mouse or something. Doesn't happen much in city driving but somewhat often on the highway.
Thanks to this forum I fixed my "turbo" issue last night with the $1.99 gasket on top of the TB. Also when replacing it make sure that the clamp is on there correctly or your snorkel isn't going to seal properly. Mine was off on the passenger side when I first reinstalled it.
Something I've found with my air cleaner is that if you open up the clamp much larger than the throttle body lip, press down on both sides of the clamp, THEN tighten it down, you'll eliminate most sealing issues.

Well, once you get the hang of it, that is.
+1, that's exactly how I do it. Opening up the clamp more makes it a lot easier to seat the air hat properly.
