Default Need wiring help asap

About two months ago I was pulling my alternator off and I had forgot to disconnect my battery and I shorted one of the wires out and blew the main fuse. Shortly after my reverse lights stopped working. Then today on the way back from camping I had a little too much to drink so girlfriend drove. Well she was laying on the horn and it just quite working. Now the blinkers and brake lights don't work. The brake light on the cab does still work though any help would be great.

It's possible that you shorted out wire all over the place, but IIRC, there is a switch in the gear select that is prone to fail.

Quite possible that you blew the fuse for the horn or the relay crapped out. Another idea is that the motor in the horns themselves seized up.

I wouldn't think that all of the issues you are having are related.

But the blinkers and brake lights worked til the horn blew. Is there anything that ties the brake lights and blinkers together? I'm not concerned with the horns really just the brake lights

don't drink so much.
don't let women drive. and why the hell was she blowing the horn. thats why they shouldn't be driving....
check all your fuses.
for backup lights, check bulbs, power at sockets, power at fuse, check/replace neutral safety switch on drivers side of transmission, towards front, hiding behind the linkage.

i think the blinkers and brake lights are on the same fuse as the horn.

Ok so I just got home and walked outside to show my dad and now they're working. And I wasn't drunk but I'm a new father who's trying to not make bad decisions so I let her drive.

I checked the power to the reverse bulbs a while back and there was no power to them or to the fuse in the dash

You did have the key turned to run when you checked for power at the fuse in the dash for the reverse lights right? If not there won't be power there until you turn the key on. I would almost guarantee you that your neutral/reverse switch on the tranny is bad. Easy to replace just watch out for the gusher of fluid that will pour out. You can jack up that side of the truck which helps prevent fluid loss.
